We made sure planters 2-8 inclusive had the density and power of colour and texture to compete with the busy urban-scape that is Downtown Yonge Street. A multitude of plant varieties were used, but colour and vibrancy were achieved in part with coneflower, dwarf hydrangea, and native dogwood vine. The planters were designed both as a whole and individually, with symmetry in arrangement and planter placement. Planters 1 and 9 are a statement of contemporary sensibility and simplicity in design, whereby the black rocks provide a stark contrast to the brightly coloured and highly structured grasses and dianthus.
