/ Contest – Toronto Botanical Garden

Created by children attending Garden Camp, this planter was inspired by the camper’s favorite locations at the Toronto Botanical Garden. They chose fragrant herbs and cucumber vines from the veggie garden, planted among whimsical trees. Recycled bottles in the bottom of the container recreate TBGs water-reservoirs, storing rain for dry weather. This design also features a miniature version of the ‘Stooks and Punes’ sculpture at TBGs Children’s Garden, recycled from garden clippings. The campers also created a terra cotta totem pole to show how the elements of a garden are connected through plants and animals that rely on each other.
